Taking a mini-break from the show...

I've been working on the second season of "Co-ed Confidential" for the last 2 1/2 weeks, and it's been a lot of fun (sorta)... I just came home to the lovely Mrs. Shoehead and my two dogs and four cats for a miniature "sanity-break".
I've been busting ass on set, as a P.A. (gotta love the 42 year-old P.A.!) and because of my experience in Transpo, (see my kick-ass resume) I was bumped up to Transpo Captain. Yee-ha!
So I'm driving back tonight to be on set bright and early!

I did watch the Oscars last night, and noticed that "No Country for Old Men" cleaned up. With that, I had to watch it, so I popped in my promo copy of the film and took a look. Did I miss something? I really didn't get the film. There were some good performances, but all-in-all, I thought the movie was, well... kinda sucked! I didn't get the ending, the whole film seemed totally choppy... I did start nodding off toward the end, but was it really voted Best Picture?

Pay-to-click sites (PTC's)

In the past year or so, pay-to-click sites (PTC's) have gotten more and more prevalent. My first reaction to them was not so much "scam", as a lot of internet skeptics are quick to view online earning programs, but more of "a-waste-of-time" view of them. I thought to myself, "This really couldn't be worth the trouble; how much could they really pay; etc..." After seeing more and more of them, and on the recommendation of an online marketing buddy of mine, I took a chance and joined one. Now, my mind is completely changed about them, and I whole-heartedly endorse them to any online referral marketer. PTC's are a new form of online advertising, that's all. Just like traffic exchanges, which at first I thought were worthless and stupid, they are fast becoming a new model for the internet; particularly in the new phenomenon of "Web 2.0" content and user-driven networking sites. I've always likened the PTC earnings to raindrops. at first, there are a few pennies. Nothing to get excited about. Like individual raindrops, by themselves they don't amount to much. But as referrals grow, the aggregate builds, and soon there's a torrent of rain (or earnings!)
As I got more familiar with PTC's I learned which ones I like better, and which I don't favor as much. these are factored by how much is paid per view, how many ads are available, etc. I'm a free member in all of them so far, but premium membership is definitely a better option. You get more ads to view, and the pay per viewing is higher-both for you and your referrals. You can also buy referral packages in different amounts that save you time. I bought some referrals, and made my money back in a matter of a week or two.
PTC's are also a good advertising medium for your own programs and sites you're promoting. The ad rates are very reasonable, and you're guaranteed viewers.

Here's a list of what I found to be the best in PTC's:
Bux.to - My Favorite. There are always a good amount of Ads to click every day. Good payout, too!
Clicks4Coins - Another favorite. You get $3 just for joining, and the ads are usually higher paying than other PTC's
ClixSense - A good PTC as well. Always good ads to view.
DailyClick.biz - Again, good payout-lots of ads.
Cashwebs.net - A good PTC, always about 15-20 ads.
Paid.vg - Excellent!

The rest of these are very good, too.
Instantad.org
cash-linkz.com
yayclick.com
Adverbux.com
DevCix.com
Fast.sc
Advercash.net
Titanclicks.com
Turbobux.com
Money-Website.com
PaidClicks.ws

These are great sites to make some extra money on the web. Referring is also not as hard as it sounds. Some downline builders, such as Free Money Team, and Marketing Pond make referring much easier, and actually fun!

Free Networking Sites That Pay You to Use Them!

These are all social networking communities. Some are similar to MySpace, only they pay you to visit friends, blog, upload pictures, etc. Some are more geared towards marketing, encouraging members to advertise whatever affiliate programs and personal businesses they like. And they're all free to join.

MyVieWin pays its members $5 just to join, and also pays for blogging, chatting, uploading photos, videos & music, and for referring friends.

Lazzeo also has a referral incentive, paying $15 for each 15 people you refer in any one-month period.

RFN pays for visiting friends, uploading photos and the like and also pays members to surf advertisers and create quizzes and polls and has a gaming area.

Trafficera is brand new and looks to have a LOT of potential, not only for making money, but for promoting other businesses and affiliate programs and networking generally. (And if you're an animal lover who's also an enthusiastic network marketer and decide to join Trafficera, consider joining the Animal Lovers team... we're awesome LOL!)

Back to Work!

OK, I just got the call from our unit production manager (UPM) Muggs, and the company I crew with, Hemisphere Entertainment, is going back into production on Monday, Feb 11th. I'll need to show up early for a couple of prep days. Yay! It'll be tough, cuz now I live three hours north of L.A., in a little town called Firebaugh, CA. I'll have to stay with friends, but I have awesome friends that always let me stay there while we work. We're shooting all through February, and into early March. I can't wait to see my good friends again,; they're like my family...
Hemisphere filmed such family classics asUndercover Kids, and The Ghost Club.

Back into my training mode!

So I finally started to get serious about my training regimen once again. After settling in to my new house (in the middle of nowhere-no gym, dry cleaners, or even pizza delivery!), it's finally time for me to get serious about my fitness program. in no time, I plan to lose my body fat, have six-pack abs, and build huge muscle!

I start tomorrow on my running program. Probably a 45 minute to an hour run. Now that I'm over 40, it's important to keep in shape.

Downline Builders

Downline Builders

I'm really a big fan of downline builders. The concept is simple--use one site to promote several programs you're involved with. When you refer someone to the downline builder, and they sign up, they can enter their own referral ID into the different programs in the downline builder. If they're not in the program, they have the opportunity to join under your referral ID. Then when that person refers others into the program, it keeps repeating. The more people referred into it, the larger the downline. Here's an example: Your downline builder contains Program A, Program B, program C, and Program D. John signs up under you. He's already in Program A, so he puts in his existing referral ID. He joins Programs B and C, but for whatever reason he has no interest in joining Program D. So you've just got a level one referral in Programs B and C. Now, John refers Mary into the downline builder. Mary is not a member of any of the four programs, so she joins A, B, and C under John (B and C she's in your level two) and Program D she's on your level one.

As you can see, it's possible to build an enormous downline in several of your programs using these sites.

These are some of my favorite downline builders:

Free Money Team and MarketingPond
are both excellent sites, and all the programs are 100% FREE to join.

The Home-Income-Team(HIT) is also an excellent program. It's free to join, and most of the programs included are free as well, but there are some premium or pro-membership programs too. The training modules themselves are excellent, and worth joining this program in itself.

Another good, solid downline builder is TrafficHoopla. no frills, just a solid program.

The First Steps to Making Money Online...

The first thing to do is join this site. Inside are several money-making programs, including Yuwie, and they're all FREE. there are also the best traffic exchanges to promote your sites! This site has a built-in downline-building program that will automatically build up your downlines!

Then, it would be a good idea to join this site, too. This site is also free to join, but not all of the programs in here are free; there are a few "pro" memberships. But the training and the downline-builder function is awesome!

Both of these programs are good to help you get started with a little bit of time investment, and not a lot of money investment. the key is to stick with it, and NEVER GIVE UP! this club is available to help you succeed!

What have I been doing all day?

OK, so today, in my neck of the woods, it was so stormy, that I had the perfect excuse to catch up with my writing, my internet goofing around and my latest obsession, Blogshares. What exactly is Blogshares? Well here in their own words, is what Blogshares is all about-- "BlogShares is a fantasy stock market where weblogs are the companies. Players invest fictional dollars on shares in blogs. Blogs are valued by their incoming links and add value to other blogs by linking to them. Prices can go up or down based on trading and the underlying value of the blog. No actual ownership of blogs is transfered. BlogShares is purely a fictional marketplace."
It really is a fun game, and it's completely win-win. Your blog gets more traffic and visibility, and it's fun as anything to play. Kudos to the guys at Blogshares!

Here's a New Year's resolution--Quit Smoking!

I quit smoking (cigarettes, at least) about this time seven years ago. Let me tell you, it was tough! Here's an article I found all about kickin' the butts...

Having trouble quitting smoking?

Shape, March, 2006 by Gabrielle Gayagoy

See this movie. In case lung cancer and heart disease aren't scary enough reasons to ditch your nicotine habit, the staggering death tolls highlighted in the film Thank You for Smoking (Fox Searchlight Pictures) ought to stop you from lighting up.

Based on Christopher Buckley's 1994 novel, the movie follows a Big Tobacco media spokesman as he realizes just how bad cigarettes can be for people. Hopefully, the film will do for smokers what Super Size Me did for fast-food junkies. In theaters March 17--G.G.

Back to Life, Back to Reality...

OK, it's time to get serious again. The holidays are over, my neighbors took down all their Christmas decorations, there's still an empty champagne bottle on my coffee table... Time to shake it off and start making things happen again. I'm gonna start by eliminating procrastination. Next week. The next thing is to try and improve my memory, by using that, um... what was it? Uh... Oh yeah--Quantum Mind Power! that's right! I intend to create-- a new reality! I might even de-clutter my house!

I'll let you know how it goes.

2008, huh? ...So this is my last 2007 post!

Man, I can't believe it's gonna be 2008. Where did the last couple of years go? I'm still kind of in a mindset of "The New Millennium" and "The 2000's are here!" ..."Y2K!" Yikes! That just shows how fast time flies. Especially now that I'm older. I can't really say 2007 was all that great. Parts of it kinda sucked, in fact. But it went by so quick, that I barely even noticed it was here.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to 2008. I think it's gonna be a great year. I'm in a new town, with a house; my wife, dogs, and cats seem to be OK... Tonight I'll drink some Champagne, and ring the new year in with an optimistic eye for the future. And I'll always keep the faith. Yay!

The NEXT phase in social networking...

I've been on Myspace for just over three years. A friend of mine wanted to show me her modelling pictures, and I joined to just look at them. I thought it was a pain-in-the-ass to sign up, and give all that personal information, and all that just to look at some pictures, but about three weeks later i realized the potential of this phenomenon, and what I'd stumbled across. since then I've found Myspace almost invaluable-- finding long-lost buddies, meeting new people, promoting all kinds of things, etc. It led me to Friendster, Bodybuilding.com, Google's Mappr, Yahoo's 360, and Youtube's "Shoehead Channel". Now there are all kinds of programs, and they're evolving; developing their own niches and specific purposes and demographics.
It was only a matter of time before the social networking craze caught on to the concept of monetization. Now there are networks that actually pay you to belong to them!
The first one is Yuwie. This is perhaps my favorite right now, because you actually sign up for free, and get paid real money! you can't beat that!
My next favorite is JoePopular. This is a network very friendly to internet-marketers. it's easy to use, and the people are very cool. I've even chatted with the owner, and he's a super guy.
Another online community is AdLandPro. They're very purpose is for advertising and marketing. I like this site alot, and there's alot of income potential there.
Finally, there's Directmatches. Another marketing community, they are more of a business-to-business type site.
I believe, with the relative newness of the internet to human culture, and the even newer-ness(?) of social networking, we've only seen the beginning of a whole new lifestyle/economy/culture.

OK, my last post was kinda jacked...

My tribute to Laura Nyro came out pretty decent, but a lot of my links didn't work. I'm still trying to master HTML. I hope my awesome readers got a feel for her, and what she was about anyway.

OK, now I wanna give a shout-out to all my buddies in India over on Blogstreet, who are really a cool bunch of people. I'd like to visit someday; it really is a beautiful country with a fascinating culture.

Laura Nyro revisited

For the last couple of days, I've been on a real Laura Nyro kick. I'm not really sure how it started, but I think it has something to do with one of my favorite Barbra Streisand tunes, Stoney End. As I looked up the song, I noticed that it was written by Laura Nyro, whom I vaguely remembered the name from my youth, and that she'd died around 1997. Other than that, she really didn't register so much. Upon looking further at her accomplishments, I was amazed at all of her songwriting credits--Eli's Coming, Wedding Bell Blues, Save the Country, even her version of Stoney End seems to have more soul and raw emotion than Barbra's. She wrote the tune And When I Die, which is a brilliant tune. Here's a video of her performing live:

I've been watching that clip again and again for the last couple of days. I really believe that music history didn't give her her due as a performer; not just as a composer/lyricist. I hope that you enjoy her and her music as much as I do.

Trying something new...

I just set up my Technorati Profile, so we'll see what happens. I like Technorati and I think they do high-visibility content feeds.

बेनजीर भुट्टो अस्ससिनातेद...

I'm deeply saddened by the disgusting attack of Benazir Bhutto. She was always a hero of mine. as the first woman leader of a modern(?) Muslim country, Mrs. Bhutto demonstrated courage and conviction. I am deeply saddened by the news, and wish to extend my prayers and condolences to the Bhutto family and to her followers.
